Dear All,
I hope you had great Christmas Holidays and that 2020 is already giving you plenty of satisfaction!
Sorry for not posting our newsletter earlier but we've been busy! I say we, because I'm very happy to report that we're now a team!
Manisha Sondhi is now our Assistant Director/ Stage Manager. She is a great young woman with lots of experience (possibly more than me!). She works part time for Theatre Royal Stratford East and she has worked for the National Youth Theatre as well. She is already a great asset for Five Minutes Before the Miracle, our theatre production.
We also have a fantastic Sound Designer, Julian, as well as an Operator/Light Designer, Sam.
And I'm also actively working on Set Design with Paul my husband, who has won the official title of Set Designer for Little Wing!
The different stages of the casting went very well too. I initially received 150 applications for the three parts. Helped by lovely Sue and Lindsay, I auditioned 55 actors in December. Then 23 of them came in two groups for a joyous and very fruitful workshop on the 7th of January. So now we have our Gil, the older brother in the story (A bit of suspense... I will tell you his name very soon)! What I will say is that he's a wonderful person and actor and I very much look forward to working with him.
And this coming Monday, I am recalling two brilliant actors for the part of Nils (the younger brother) and two brilliant actors for the part of Arnaud/Arounian (the father/Armenian neighbor). So, Tuesday hopefully we'll have a full cast!
This Monday as well, we'll have our lovely flyers!
We are in Ici Londres online and soon in their printed version (free magazine distributed everywhere in London). We'll also feature in various other French publications (online and printed) in the coming weeks.
I am also giving talks about the production in a couple of French associations in London.
I've hired the services of My Theatre Mates, an online company dedicated to bringing exposure to fringe productions like mine through articles, blogs, reviews, banners, posts on social network.... So, fingers crossed, this will help give a proper boost to our event.
So that's us for today! Don't forget to check our website from time to time as I'm planning to write blog posts regularly.
And don't forget to book your tickets if you don't want to miss the event! The Jack is a small venue (50 seats)!
Lots of love from us and Little Wing! 💝
